Future Fossils: Portal Gun
This piece imagines what the Aperture Science Hand Held Portal Device, AKA Portal Gun, might look like after millions of years of fossilization.
The original is made out of cast resin pieces and acrylic, weathered and cracked up to signify many years of age. Once the gun was complete, it was encased in a concrete mixture that was then chipped away much like one would chip away rock to uncover a fossil. The fossils were molding in silicone then cast with resin and ceramic fillers to make a light-weight rock-like casting that could be hung from the wall.
